I just wrapped shooting on a public service announcement for Don’t Rush Safety. The PSA, entitled “Look Up,” was coordinated by the Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol; Castro Valley, San Leandro Valley, and Hayward School Districts; Public Works Agency; and Supervisor Miley’s office and was produced by Futures Explored Film Workshop. I played a toy unicorn come to life. It was an incredibly rewarding experience working with so many talented kids and community members, and I can’t wait to see the final product when it’s released in August. It was also wonderful to be reunited with my Uno director Hester Wagner.
Uno, a film I completed in the fall of 2014, has been granted a prestigious Award of Recognition at the Best Shorts Film Competition. “Best Shorts is not an easy award to win,” said rick Prickett, who chairs the Best Shorts Competition. “Entries are received from around the world from powerhouse companies to remarkable new talent. The goal of Best Shorts is to help winners receive the recognition they deserve. The judges were pleased with the exceptional high quality of entries.”
I play Stacy in the film, a nurse helping a young autistic man and a Gulf War veteran bond. I am so proud to have been a part of this exceptional crew. Congratulations to director Hester Wagner and the crew at Futures Explored.
